We had a spot in the yard that nobody ever saw or used… So we made a garden! Ripping out the grass is a pain I’ll be honest but having a huge area to garden in is well worth it if you are into it… Now I spend a lot of time in that area ;]

We added 2 yards of compost/topsoil mix and tilled it in… Raised beds are the way to go but this is the cheap/fast way to get plants in the ground.

NOTE: Now through the season… I would not leave any grass paths… Rip it all out and pour rock down or anything else… I had to weed-eat it and I murdered a couple small starts at the beginning :[
